And so you have arrived upon Terole, your feet pressing into the warm soil as you emerge from the portal that carried you away from your respective planet, and any semblance of safety you might have known. You take a brief glance around you, gaze taking in the Den and tweaking your pre-imagined idea of the place.

The Den itself appears to be a large, open cavern. The rock is a plain, earthy brown, littered with huge boulders and metallic shrapnel long since blackened and twisted from gunfire and lasers. Looking around a bit more, you realize the cavern isn't so round. It's more like a blunt, five-toed pawprint, right into the side of a mountain. Each 'toe' seems to be a different shade, and holds a different portal. Pulsing over the walls, a living glow of tangerine energy flows continuously around you. Curious, you take a few steps in it's direction, reaching out to touch--

"I wouldn't."

You pause, and turn to face the quiet but powerful russet gaze of the black Redan.

"The energy of Terole herself forms that barrier. So long as you are within it, nothing can harm you nor detect you."

You nod once, casting an admiring eye back upon the living walls once more before looking back to the Korat.

Redan nods once, allowing you time to appease your curiosity before continuing, "I do not know of your past, and I do not need to know.  You have obviously heard of our cause, perhaps through the Madren  and the Kana of Lavana, perhaps through survivors who dwell upon your own planet, or perhaps for reasons all your own. Nevertheless, you have come to investigate -- or perhaps to fight. For this alone, I am thankful."

The curve of a smile starts upon your face.

"However."

You blink once, your face emotionless once more.

"You must be aware of what you are up against."

Suddenly, other creatures begin to emerge from the shadows of the caverns beyond. They are warriors all, and carry the physical embodiment of their battles in the lines on their face, and the scars on their back. You are introduced to each in turn: The Five Deaths, Januya jin Jekki, Majhiik Endiosa, and then the rest of the warriors.

Your eyes fall back to Redan, and the black continues, "As we are, there is no war that can be won. You will be fighting guerilla tactics, where victories can only be measured by how much damage we can do upon the Drakka before we are forced to pull out. You will always be outnumbered, and you will always be at a disadvantage.

"However, hope holds that if we can prove ourselves to be a worthy fighting force, more will come to aid the cause, and perhaps, someday, we will reach the goal that as of now seems unattainable.

"Are you ready to join the Renegades of Terole?"
